Community changes for COVID-19: online sittings and meditation instruction, and other resources

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: In-person public events, including Sunday/Wednesday sittings and Heart of Recovery (Sarpashana), have been temporarily suspended and moved to Zoom. We are working on putting a plan in place to safely reopen the Phoenix Center, and we are beginning to test models for hybrid online/in-person meetings. For the time being we will continue to offer weekly sittings, Sarpashana, and classes online.

Online Sittings and Meditation Instruction

We’re happy to offer our regular weekly schedule of sittings via Zoom. You can join the Zoom meetings using a computer or mobile app at the following links:

Sunday Public Sitting 9:30 – 11:00 am
Heart of Recovery (Sarpashana) Tuesdays 7:00 – 8:00 pm
Wednesday Public Sitting 7:00 – 7:30 pm

You do not need a Zoom account in order to join. If you do not have the Zoom computer client or mobile app, you’ll be prompted to download it when you click the link, or you can download it here.

You can also join with a telephone call. Please visit our calendar and click the event you want to join for a list of phone numbers.

Public sittings, Sarpashana, and meditation instruction are always free. Donations are gratefully accepted. To make an online donation with PayPal, please visit our Donate page.

We are also offering meditation instruction by request. Please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll respond within 24 hours to set you up with a meditation instructor.

More online resources and learning opportunities

As meditators, we are in an excellent position both to work with the fears that can arise in the face of a situation like COVID-19 and to enact skillful means to keep ourselves and others safe. We wish our community, families, and neighbors the best of health!
